Good NewsOur Testimonies

Today we went to Covenant Fellowship and Pastor Booker's message talked about miracles in the muddy water.

You know every day God is doing a work in each of us.  He has a plan for each of us and knows our comings and goings before they even happen.

His will may be for us to speak to someone that doesn't look like us, in a different country, dealing with issues that we may never have dealt with.  We will never understand what His plan may be or where He wants us to go.

We as Christians miss out on many blessings I believe because we aren't obedient to what God tells is to do.  I have never heard Him speak audibly,  but many times I as I have gone through my days, someone crosses my path and I just feel an urgency come across me to talk to them.  Many times after I have talked to them I realize God put them in front of me for a purpose.

Randy and I had not really thought of doing meetings but one day last fall I locked my keys in the car down in Bristol.  I called Randy to come help me and he got in touch with Mark Mitchell from Tri Cities Recovery.   After Mark got my car door open he invited us to his Living Free meeting in Bristol.   He had invited us many times but we never had gone.

We went that night and found God's purpose why we were there.  This Tuesday March 1st we are starting meetings for the Concerned Person in Lebanon.   Leading these classes is "muddy waters" for Randy and I.  We have never done this without being part of a bigger group, but we really feel God is calling us to step out in faith to open these doors.  We were given a place, the 911 Dispatch center,  by Sherriff Dye, at no cost.  Mark gave us the materials to do the classes.  We don't know how many people will come, but we feel we are following God's leading to go ahead.  We are excited to see what God is going to allow us to see accomplished through His work there.

This is our "muddy water" we are going to step into.  God will never lead you to a place or to a situation without already being there.

Please keep us and these meetings in your prayers.   We are excited to see God at work in the lives of whoever comes into the meetings.

Matthew  28:19-20.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you,.  And remember I am with you always to the end of the age.

As Randy and I have been following God's call into the ministry of reaching out to those caught up in drug addiction and alcoholism, we are following the great commission.  God has told us that as we step out in faith that He will always be with us.

His provisions to keep us going, to get us where we need to be have just been amazing.  We serve an all knowing, all giving Father who wants to take us into places that we would never reached before.  Why is it that when He provides for us that as believers in Jesus, we are amazed at what God does?

I have had 2 very wise men of God tell us that the encouragement to go into ministry, to do what God tells us to do, will not come from the people we expect it from.  One said, "the doves will starve you, the ravens will feed you."

But this isn't only in reaching out in a ministry, but many times, this is for the new Christian.   When they first get saved, people are happy for them, hug them, congratulate them.  But after that mountain high of salvation, where do these people go?  Where are they to help direct me in understanding the Bibke, understanding what " being a Child of God is all about?  Some of my best support in my walk with God has come from people who sit very quietly in the background of church.  But their prayer life, their Bible reading,  their worship with God is the most important thing in this world to them.

It all comes down to this,  if it is reaching out to start a ministry,  if it is beginning a journey into salvation,  reach out to those who will be your support, your prayer partners, your encouragement without wanting to be recognized, or "patted on the back."

Jesus said go into ALL the world, no matter who the person is, where they come from, what they have done.  But go knowing that when your heart if God's heart and your vision is,God's vision, God will amaze you with His favor and His blessings.

This is my first blog post.  I am figuring out how to do this to make this a regular feature of our website.  Check back often.
