Good NewsOur Testimonies

What if?  How many times have you said this before?  I got to say countless probably for me.

There is a new song out from Mercy Me, called "What if".  Really hit me hard coming home tonight because it talks about being on a stage and sharing with folks not to lose hope even when we may feel we are losing hope.

So many times I have listened to people make remarks about people that are Christians that their lives must be perfect because they are saved.  Never understood why people think after we get saved that our lives are going to be rosy, pain free, no problems.  .   So untrue.  Once we accept Jesus, satan boosts up his attacks, tries so much harder to trip us up.

We have those moments where we feel broken, we feel we can't go on, beaten down.  But what if, in those moments we stood on all the promises of God.  What if we got on our knees and prayed till we couldn't pray anymore?  What if on the midst of the spiritual battle, we put on the armor of God as our Bibles teach us to do.

What if, what if, what if?  Oh how different all those situations would be if we just let go and let God?  We have the answer to all those who are searching for the hope they need to get through the day.  The physician they need to heal their bodies, the provider when we can't see the end of the tunnel with financial needs.  The answer to someone who is feeling suicidal, and wanting to give it all up.

What if tomorrow you shared Jesus with everyone you come into contact with?  Life just may become more hopeful,  more worth the living.

This world is getting to be so much anti Christian.  We seem to offend everyone around us because of our beliefs and faith.

The Bible tells us that we will be persecuted for our beliefs,  but every day we are seeing more and more of our privileges and rights taken away.  I have always had a Christian calendar on my desk at work, had scripture cards there to give to someone who I think needs encouragement.

We wear Christian shirts at times, listen to Christian music, but it doesn't mean we aren't still humam and that we don't stI'll say things we shouldn't or think things we shouldn't.   But folks can still have issues with the way we live our lives.  We don't force our faith on anyone,  but we pray that by our example that someone may fund a relationship with God through us.

We are coming up on Bristol Race Weekend with Victory Tour and we tell the volunteers to not bring or wear Christian shirts or jackets, don't bring tracts to hand out, etc.  We are hahanging out with many people who don't have a relationship with God and we are trying to just get them into a concert where the gospel message is given and offered.  Many people who will come to the concerts don't attend church, don't want anything to do with Christianity, but we try to show them that we as Christians can still have fun, we can still laugh, etc.

Don't put God in a box , just show the love of Jesus any way that you can, any way you feel compelled to do so.  God will bless your efforts.

I Timothy 1:12-16  I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given the strength, that he considered us faithful, appointing us to His service.  Even though we were once a blasphemer and a persecutor and violent, we were shown mercy because we acted in  ignorance and unbelief.  The grace of our Lord was poured out on us abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.  Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance in Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom we were the worst.  But for that very reason we were shown mercy so that in us, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life.

Randy and I both feel so blessed that God has given us this ministry and this plan in our lives.  Ten years ago when we moved here to Virginia we had no idea what God had in His plans for us.  I visited some friends in Beaufort not to long ago and the first thing said was "did you ever think you and Randy would be doing what you are right now for the Kingdom of God." I have to say, "no, but I guess God did."

God has given such a passion in both our hearts for those that are battling addiction and other life controlling struggles.  Satan has tried his best to just taken over this area and the rest of the world with drugs and alcohol.  He is destroying families and friends, he is on a mission to thrill, kill and destroy.

But our hearts are so blessed when we see someone who has never accepted Jesus find a relationship with Him and then we get to see what He does in their lives.  Nothing gives us more joy than to see someone regain the relationships that they had lost, get jobs, get custody of their children, but most of all watch them begin to make a difference in the community.  When they begin to tell their story of finding Jesus and what God has done in their life, it makes this ministry so exciting to be a part of.

The thing is when all of us get saved, we all are to get out of the church and share Jesus with everyone we meet.  We all have a ministry, we all have a testimony we can share, a journey with Jesus.  Feel the blessing that only God can give when you reach out and share Jesus and they accept God's free gift of salvation.

Step out in faith and God will provide your needs and will give you encouragement through people, divine appointments to stay on the path on the journey that He has planned for you.

God bless all of you.  If we can ever be of any help to you or someone you know, our phone numbers are on the webpage.

Randy and I went down to Gatlinburg today and looked around at all the devestation that was caused by the fires late 2015.  It was so sad to see the homes, the businesses that were gone.  So many families have made memories in these places.  And then you think of all the loss of life.

But what was really strange was seeing one house or business leveled and the business or house beside it or across the street with nothing more than smoke damage.   It was amazing to see how the fires almost just picked and chose it's victim.

But you know satan works in the same way.  Everyone has different addictions,  everyone has a battle.  One person will battle with prescription drugs, alcohol, meth or whatever.  But he knows what to throw at you.  But that same tactic may not work with your spouse, your Co worker, your friend.  He knows what  button he can push on you to try and trip you up, to try and destroy you.

But just as with the fire,  God protects those that are His children.  He puts a wall of protection around us, He gives us the armor to protect us.  But we have to do our part.  Stay on the word of God, fellowship with fellow believers, stay in prayer.

When you feel the fire burning around you from satan's attacks, get on your knees, cry out to Jesus.  He will be your wall of protection from the adversary.

I have an older sister named Judy, who is in the midst of battling round 2 of a blood cancer.  She first battled this back in 1999-2000 and needed a bone marrow transplant.  We as a family will never forget listening to DAD pray over and over for God to provide a perfect match for her transplant.  God listened to all those prayers and provided a perfect match with our sister, Barb.

But now in September, Judy was diagnosed with this same cancer.  Her numbers were worse, not sure of what the treatment would be.  But then there began an outpouring of prayers from not only all of us here, but from Dad. I know he has been still sending his prayers to the feet of Jesus for  healing for Judy.

The treatments started out rough, the numbers in her bloodwork weren't responding the way that she or the doctors knew that they should.  But then God started to show Himself in  every step,, every treatment, every lab.  She has been posting her story, her words of wisdom to someone else who might be in the battle, to her friends on FB.  Judy has been a private person and really didn't like me posting about her on FB, but I am watching God do a  miracle through her postings on FB.  She gives God all the glory for the path that she is on and knows that He alone is her Healer and that he is giving her the grace and mercy that she needs every day to face this battle.

We have had our share of disagreements, our share of sibling issues.  But when my Mom and Dad passed years ago, she took over the role of the one that the rest of us talk to, share with when we need family.  Mom and Dad were our examples of what God can do for us when we let Him have control of our lives.  We were a blessed family.

I know that God has the plan for Judy and all of us.  She was to share her testimony at church right after they got the diagnosis this second time around and so that got put on hold.  But reading the words that she posts every day, giving God the glory for the strength, courage and grace that He is giving her, Donald and the girls is her testimony playing out.

I am blessed to call her my sister and to see the encouragement that her words and her strength in the midst of the storm are giving to others.  I don't know what the process is going to be or what tomorrow holds for Judy or even all of us, but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds our hands.

If you don't have a relationship with Jesus, make today the day.  See we all never have a promise to wake up tomorrow.  We never know what the doctor is going to say, but with God on your side, cry out to Jesus.  Your cries will awaken the Master and He will bring you through the storm.
